Kym Parnell
Executive Director/CEO
Kym Parnell became Executive Director/CEO of United Way of East Mississippi in January 2022, making her the first woman to hold the position. She brings more than 25 years of corporate leadership experience and 19 years of nonprofit work and volunteer service.
With a background in banking and financial education, Kym founded Kymmustry Financial, LLC in 2020 to promote credit education, restoration, and financial stability. Her longstanding commitment to United Way includes serving as Campaign Chair, Pacesetter Chair, and Board President.
A graduate of Leadership Lauderdale (2014) and a recipient of Meridian's Top 20 Under 40 recognition (2018), Kym is passionate about strengthening the community and advancing United Way's mission. She and her husband, Ken, have one daughter, Kynnadi.
